A dedicated program for first-generation research students. First in Research is a program that cultivates long-term planning and acquaintance with the skills required for successful integration in the world of academic research. The program invites highly motivated students who are first generation in higher education (on both parents’ sides) and who are studying for a research MA or about to begin third-degree studies at the Hebrew University. 

The participants will engage in training and inspiration meetings, which will help them promote their academic-research potential as part of a supportive peer group. The program includes identity and dialogue meetings, together with the acquisition of required skills such as academic career planning, conference presentation, and publishing in journals, as well as meetings with leading researchers who are also first generation in academia.
