Issawiya Good Neighbor Project

This initiative includes three OUTREACH programs designed for high school students from Issawiya and participants in the "Sadara" preparatory program for East Jerusalem students.

  • Established in 2016, this program brings high school students from Issawiya to engage with research students from the Mandel School and participate in campus tours and activities across the university’s various campuses. Students are provided with shuttle transportation and attend biweekly afternoon sessions with mentors.

KAMAM – Transition Year Program

Supported by Yad Hanadiv, this initiative provides 75 high school graduates from Majd al-Krum, Tamra, and Reineh with a structured preparation year for university studies. Participants receive academic preparation for the Psychometric, YAEL, and AMIRAM exams, as well as leadership and SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) workshops, and academic and career counseling. The Diversity Unit oversees the academic track of the program, which brings students to Hebrew University for coursework and exposure sessions. This year, the track includes a 4-credit course based on the Faculty of Humanities' "Gateway to Academia" program. Students engage with academic texts from various faculties, meet faculty members, students, and alumni, and participate in campus tours. The program consists of biweekly sessions (twice per month in the first semester) and an intensive two-week study period in the second semester, spending full days on campus from morning to afternoon.
